Magnum series exhaust systems are based from our racing experience. The term Magnum comes from Magnesium and highlights the characteristics obtained from the use of die-cast Magnesium in the exit caps. This solution represents the maximum combination of strength and lightness, due to the characteristics of a highly-prized material like Magnesium.
The cap, characterized by an attractive design with the QD logo in relief, is die-cast with a pressure of 50 tons, which gives it a very high molecular density that guarantees excellent mechanical characteristics with limited sections and, consequently, a significant reduction in weight.
In addition, the Magnum series cap is protected by a ceramic-based paint that protects it from corrosion by oil and gasoline and the highly acidic environment of the hydrocarbons; in addition, the paint is resistant to 1400 °C.
Magnum series Slip-Ons are designed to provide the maximum performance and phonometric yield; the interior system consists of a perforated tube with 5-mm holes 8-mm apart. The stratification of the sound-absorbent material has been designed to give the terminal a sound characterized by low frequencies under 800 Hz. At the same decibel level, the tone of QD Magnum series Slip-Ons is low and deep: what more could you ask to give your motorcycle a “voice” with a strong character.
QD'sMagnum series Slip-Ons are equipped with the Gas-Extractor system. This system favors the flow of exhaust gas, increasing the extraction of the exhaust system. The Gas-Extractor creates a “pulsation” zone that absorbs the pressure waves generated by the motor and lowering the decibel level.
Thanks to a cut that is inclined with respect to the mouth of the terminal, the exit of the Gas-Extractor generates an asymmetric wave that shatters when it breaks against the lower lip of the Slip-On, further reducing the sound level.
